Another successful Christmas lunch for our 3C’s (coffee, craft & chat) ladies. What better way to start the festivities.

A very successful Presentation Lunch held at Bush Hill Park Golf Club on Saturday 19th October . Good food, good company and all winners presented with their trophies.

We put up the flags, filled the glasses and cut the wonderful Coronation Cake.

Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled time as a prelude to afternoon tea and the toast to the King.

After the summer monsoons we enjoyed good weather for the bowling and barbecue.    The day started with bowling for the President’s Cup which was won by Jackie, followed by the inevitable Spider.   Lucky Cliff carried away that prize.   President Dave and his little helper Steve produced their best effort yet with the barbecue and the salads and other dishes were delicious.   Not even a sausage left at the end.   A marvellous array of raffle-prizes were quickly claimed and we just cleared up before the weather changed.

This was a new venture at the recently acquired Potters venue near Colchester.    The rooms and food were excellent and the evening entertainment superb.   

The Bury Lodge faithful lent their support to their favourites at the World Bowls at Potters in January.   As usual the play was fantastic as was the enormous amount of food consumed by our members.

The annual trip to Cyprus in November went as well as ever.   After Covid the party was smaller but the bowling lived up the the usual high standard with a good victory over the locals.
